discharge
« on: March 10, 2020, 04:44:54 PM »

hi ladies

ok so a personal question here and one i?m embarrassed about. x

so my first major meno symtom was dampness in knickers thought to be caused by VA watery discharge i have been on ovestin twice a week and systemic estrogen but it still remains it ranges from thick and white to then watery white which of cause makes my knickers damp in a little patch but i?m able to feel it
my gynocologist said i no longer have VA and the local estrogen has done its job but i don't know why but i use ovestin tuesday and friday and come monday i have the watery discharge then i use cream tuesday on wednesday have slightly irritated bladder and some cream come out with thicker discharge and then could go a day or two with no discharge but if i exercise it's like it just comes out and since adding in progesterone i've noticed more of the watery discharge .
hope that makes sense so could i need a bit more estrogen ie 3 pumps i don't want to up the ovestin because of bladder irritation getting worse x

i remember when i was on just estrogen and ovestin i was becoming yo wet down their and my knickers were wet and specialist was the one who said maybe my vagina is over lubricating so i reduced the ovestin to once a week and this helped but now i feel that wet again .

your thoughts appreciated as always as driving me nuts

The PH balance in the vagina changes at menopause. Have you been tested for an infection such as bacterial vaginitis which can cause a watery discharge?
I had sporadic episodes of discharge but I've tested negative for various infections.

Hi sammie...I use vagifem daily and get white discharge next day.  From what I was told, the discharge is more than likely fillers that are in local HRT.  Your body sloughs off what it doesn't need or want.  I am also well moisturized now but GP said not to stop as VA only gets worse.  I'm thinking of cutting back to 5 days a week if I can.  Personally I would rather have discharge then the pain and discomfort of VA.  I think you have to try a few different options to find out the best for you.

hi

yes tested negative for infections maybe there is still some VA there then as it's watery i use ovestin twice a week which is suiting me but it goes watery and sticky not all the time but normally as ovestin wearing off by the 3 rd day so maybe i need 3 times a week now with adding in progesterone x

Sammie. I have noticed a change in discharge since entering surgical  meno.. it happened pretty quick.  the consistency changes . I think there is less cervical mucous. I used to get a "healthy "" slippery and clear discharge before but now it is more watery.  And ovestin can leak out a,bit too.

Progesterone dries things out for me too. I use ovestin every night. Xx

I don't understand why your gynaecologist had said you no longer have VA as it can't be cured but needs to be managed for life.  If I stopped using ovestin then symptoms would return.

Exactly suzysunday...sammie VA is for life.  My GP has adamantly stated that ALL women in menopause have atrophy.  For some of us it is severe and for others not so much.  To prevent your VA getting worse, particularly at your younger age, it should be treated accordingly.

hi there

my gynecologist said that the atrophy had gone and the tissues were well estronised but yes i would need to keep taking ovestin to keep it this way otherwise VA would come back.

i found with adding in progesterone i seem to have more watery discharge and i?m very constipated at the moment whereby on the estrogen alone it wasn't as bad more thicker discharge which didn't make my knickers so wet

i don't think it's wee ?
