We met at church and gradually built up a friendship over about a year.  Then we both were invited by mutual friends to meet up in a very rural pub for drinks and decided to travel together - we got hopelessly lost, the car ended up in a ditch, I hopped out to help push it back on the road and got covered in mud  :o...it was so disastrous that it started to be funny, and once we started laughing we couldn't stop.  By the time we turned up at the pub an hour late, we'd gone from being good mates to being an item, and walked into the pub hand in hand.  :love:

Our mutual friends are now claiming the credit for our relationship, due to their choice of pub  ;D

Congratulations Dorothy

We are off to Majorca in 3.5 weeks, I need this holiday. I'm also concerned, being in an airport and on a plane in close proximity to so many people.

How lovely Dorothy - I feel a book in that story  8)

YG - if the Government says no travel to Majorca you should get your money back.  Get that case packed ;-)

My husband won a five star trip of a lifetime last month to South Africa with his work, the full shebang-safari, trip to Robben Island, Cape Town etc. Due to fly on Thursday, they've cancelled it. We are due to fly for an Easter break to...Naples on 9th April, I would put money on it that it's cancelled. My daughter has just been told her Geology trip to Spain over Easter has been cancelled. In other news, the dogs are healthy 😂

@kdee69, I'm so sorry.  Bad enough having one holiday cancelled but three trips in one family.

Hi Dorothy

Thank you. We are trying to remain very pragmatic. Things could be so much worse. We could actually HAVE the virus for one thing and disappointing as it is, these are very unusual times, certainly ones we haven't known before so we will thank our lucky stars. it's my husband I feel most sorry for. 🥰

I keep getting promotional emails from Eurostar, P&O Ferries and Fred Olsen.

Has nobody told them there's a war on.

 ;D   1 can book a trip.  Unlikely to get to go on it though ........ it's probably their way of boosting finances during this lack of passengers? In their Bank, not yours  ;)

Just had another one from our regular hotel in Suffolk.

It's nice to be wanted.

 ;D. that's OK.  It's sad that some people who live in the UK have cancelled self catering etc. bookings up North  :-\.  I would still go.  I always take plenty of books, there's usually TV or scenery to watch ........

We are off to Tetbury, next Tuesday, for two nights.  Husband got tickets to see Bristol City.

I'm really excited, honest.  ::)
