Vagifem and YES
« on: February 17, 2020, 12:37:31 PM »

I have had a flare up of VA :'(  I use Vagifem every night , i am doubling up on that for this week as per meno specialist advice. I have never used YES moisturiser but am thinking of doing so, if i use it will it stop the Vagifem absorbing if i use it in the morning?

Oh Tinkerbell...you were doing pretty good.  I don't use Yes but I think you can apply it in a.m. and do double dose of vagifem at night.  Every once in awhile I double dose when feeling uncomfortable.  Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Keep up with the 'vagifem' every night until symptoms ease.  Maybe add pain relief 3 times a day?

The idea is to keep the whole vagina/vulval area moist.  Dryness causes it to itch ......

Thank you both

Whatsup.....yes i was doing so well, it is not too bad, nothing like it was before i got it under control, just worried about going back there. I normally double up for a couple of nights as soon as i think i am having a blip and it normally sorts it, maybe i didn't do that soon enough. I am going to carry on with double dose for a week and hope that does the trick. I did try upping my Estrogel, i normally use 3 but the 4 pumps made me feel jittery.

Vaginal atrophy is localised hence the 'vagifem' or 'ovestin' treatments.  I don't use other HRT but 'ovestin' really keeps VA at bay!

CLKD..I would love to try Ovestin as so many of you UK ladies have such success but in Canada not an option.

Hi Tinkerbell
It will be OK to use Yes VM in the morning as it is water based. If using the oil based one, I would just use that externally, as perhaps internal use would affect absorption of the Vagifem. Hope you get it back under control soon.
