Imirena coil
« on: February 11, 2020, 09:10:55 PM »

Hello

I'm after advice again!
Have tried Utrogestan orally and vaginally and feeling dizzy, blurry eyed and low blood sugar both ways 😞
Fem 7 suited me for years, but due to shortages had to change. Evorel has the other sort of progesterone, which gave me side effects. Only other option is mirena coil, which has the same type of progesterone as Fem7.  Am I right in thinking that the dose is much higher though? Tried it before and had side effects.
Running out of options...

Hi there - if Femseven suited you then Mirena should do also - although if you had side effects hmmm - maybe you got more prog from it than the patch? The dose of progestogen you get from it is higher at first and then gradually reduces over the 5 years. I did some looking into the figures and discovered it was very approx in same ballpark (re absorption) on average as Femseven patch.

Thank you. I thought it might be higher. Debating whether to try reducing Utrogestan to every other day.   Who knows 😕☺️
