« on: February 11, 2020, 09:15:19 AM »

Hi All first post for me!  :) Does anyone else feel like they don't want to leave the house? I feel safe and calm inside and am finding going to work and just popping to the shop overwhelming wish I could just lock myself at home is this normal?
Have to go to work now and am looking for any excuse to stay here lol

Hi Jt45,

Yes I think some days are a real struggle. I force myself to keep going as normal. Work, seeing friends, shops, holidays, getting on a plane and seeing my daughter.

I've grown up watching my mums world get smaller and smaller. She now won't go farther the 15 minutes from the house. Now she got my Dad doing the same. My parents pretty much stay at home all day. They won't visit family who live couple off hours away.

That's my motivation is not to be my mum. I feel if I give in my world will get smaller and smaller.

As hard as it is don't stop pushing yourself to get out of the house.

I suffered from phobic anxiety from the age of 3.  Eventually in the 1990s I became housebound.  Unable to move from the property.  My GP gave me 'valium' to use as necessary.  This helped B4 an event I was unable to avoid - I would take 5mg the night B4 knowing that I was able to take 2 more the next day: which I never required.

How is your menstrual cycle?   Also relaxation and yoga can help - do speak to your GP about medication .  I have found rescue remedy mouth spray useful too.

Are you able to explain 'PE' please?

There are medications that can ease bleeding.  If your GP ain't any use, pop along to a Pharmacist.  They have private rooms these days and a list of Companies that they can contact for advice.

PE is pulmonary embolism so I can't take HRT I have tried the meds to help with bleeding but they didn't really help but I might go back and try again

Tnx.  Is this recent?  I know it was problematic with patients long-term in bed with various medication conditions  :-\ and then moved.  Suddenly PM affected them.

Do you have an exercise regime?

I wonder why PE would be contra-indicative?

Do you feel better once you reach work?  My worry is that anxiety will cause panic attacks so that I can't cope  :-\

Aw it's horrible isn't it, do you feel better when you get somewhere or do you just not go?
I do feel better once I get into work but am always thinking about being at home but I haven't had a panic attack

If I do things spontaneously I am usually fine.  Which is why we don't mix much.  Events leave me cold 'cos it ups the anti..

Yh I get that I am the prime example of the friend that cancels all the time! It gets to the day/night of event and I can't face it most of the time but I do enjoy it if I force myself to go,
I can't take HRT or any hormone based drug as it can thicken the blood and raise the risk of blood clots and because my risk is already higher than some it's a big no go so I hope things don't get any worse

Have you been told by a meno specialist or just your gp? I'm wondering if it might be worth getting specialist advice. I had anxiety as a peri symptom which was cured by hrt. I may be wrong but I thought transdermal hrt was OK but not oral.
