Mirena and Oestrogen
« on: February 09, 2020, 12:54:57 PM »

Hi,

I got Mirena fitted just over 5 weeks ago - switched from Ultrogestan (low dosage - 100) taken 12 days a month to Mirena coil. I am 47 and peri. I use estrogel for the oestrogen part of my HRT.

I feel like I need more oestrogen now. I am aware that progesteron opposes oestrogen and now that progesteron is constantly in my system, upping oestrogen makes sense. I am on 5 pumps and upping even more will make me covered in gel.

Has anyone experienced that they needed more oestrogen after moving to Mirena? If so mow much more? Also, will this bloating ever go away?

Thanks ladies X

Maybe put 'mirena' into the search box to see what pops up?  Make notes ;-)

Thanks CLKD. I have done this and read many posts before posting. Couldn't see this aspect being discussed before. Maybe I missed it. Should I ask my question in a different thread?
