Mirena / fsh levels
« on: March 05, 2024, 12:32:26 PM »

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can give me a definite answer

Does the mirena coil affects fsh blood test results ?
My fsh is reading 85 IU/L
Which is in the post menopausal ref range

I cannot be as I was having regular
periods until I had the mirena coil fitted almost 6 months ago

Thanks in advance

I had this in early perimenopause. The dr called me back 6 weeks later and it was 2.

It fluctuates wildly in perimenopause. Was the reading done on day 3-5 of your cycle? If not then it really isn’t valid and you need to repeat it then.

Hi it was on day 3
My gp not worried about the high level
So guess it’s normal for it to fluctuate
Thanks
