« on: January 22, 2020, 05:04:38 PM »

Looking for a bit of advice due to evorel conti being out of stock i have finally been given estogel 1 pump per day and Utrogertan 1 tab day 1 to 25 as prescribed by doctor but on the BMS website alternatives  it sayslink https://thebms.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/HRT-alternatives-04.11.2019.pdf  ( Oestrogel one measure twice a day would be equivalent to the oestrogen dose in Evorel Conti + Progestogen: Micronised Progesterone: Utrogestan 100 mg orally at night daily on continuous basis ) so will that mean if I take it day 1 to 25 I will have a bleed, I have tried to call the local menopause clinic but i cant get through to anyone I am at a total loss what to do as i feel i cant speak to my doctor

You may or may not have a bleed. The licensed regime for post-menopausal utrogestan is taking it days 1-25 with 3 days off during which time if the lining has built up, then there will be a bleed. If it has not built up then you won't bleed. Most doctors however prescribe it for daily use. You might want to start the 1-25 regime at first to see how you get on? Some bleeding or spotting is expected within the first 6 months of any HRT so changing to the new regime may  cause a bit of this anyway. All the best with it!
