Time of day for HRT?
« on: December 31, 2019, 06:41:02 PM »

I feel like I am becoming a serial poster this week!

I am taking 1.5 mg of sandrena gel and have just survived my first week or so.

Generally I'm starting to feel more ‘normal' again, but my sleep pattern is all over the place!
I work shifts (not nights) so I apply the gel in the evening as this is easiest.

The problem is, it takes me an hour to get to sleep, then I sleep really well for a couple of hours, then I wake up dying for the loo, stay awake for an hour, sleep for about 3/4 hours, then have fitful sleep/hot until I wake up!

Would it make any difference if I applied the gel in the morning? Or will things settle down eventually?

It would be so much easier if I had patches but that's another story!

Just a quick update:

So I reduced my sandrena gel to 1mg, and today I woke up feeling refreshed. (Even with a new year hangover!)

I was scared to reduce it after the dr started me on 2mg, but obviously 1mg must be the correct dose for me.

At last I'm feeling ‘normal' 😀😀😀

Bingo- seems you have found what works for you.
You might find that you 'dip' as times goes by and then up the dose.
It has taken me ages to get 'right'.
MIne always 'wore off'  - NOt now.
Takes about 3 month of using to know if it suits you.
As for the time, i really don't think it matters.  It is whatever suits you.
I take mine at night, but then again i have patches on all day.
Just enjoy that lovely feeling of clear and 'normal'
