I had been taking indivina 2/5 for 2 years when I found that menopause symptoms were returning (age62) my consultant said we could add another 1mg of estradiol and wrote to my gp, who deals with repeats. Indivina became impossible to source so I asked for the drugs to be prescribed separately and was called in for a review with the GP. He said 2 mg of estradiol was already high and he was not happy to prescribe another 1mg but would give me sandrina gel. So now I'm using 3 mg of sandrina plus a squirt of tostran 5 times a week and having to wait half an hour before I can get dressed. Also I'm having to have monthly prescriptions rather than 6 months as he wouldn't give me more. Is gel really so much safer than tablets?
