Help
« on: December 13, 2019, 07:24:52 PM »

Hello to all you knowledgeable ladies.I am new And it's all a little sad but we need these personal experiences recorded to help each other out.I am now 52 and menopausal BUT on top of this I have just been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. When I had my last child they said I had Post Natal depression.I have never been myself since that day.I was labeled then with anxiety and panic attacks put on antidepressants for 25 years that never worked. My quality of life has been very low.Because of that label I am constantly dismissed.long story short After 25 years they have done the appropriate blood tests and I was diagnosed. So it does explain everything I have been feeling including having a baby with birth defects Cleft lip and palate.A lot of the symptoms are very similar to PMS.80% of your thyroid blood tests come back normal but you still have symptoms of thyroid. Its all to long to write here but please ask if you would like to know anything.Googl Hashimoto's symptoms they are very like menopause so you can just meaning how sick we are with both.
My question for everyone here is I started taking HRT Kliovance Ta 1mg 0.5 mg EST I am on day ten
My symptoms are so tired like a zombie at times.Slightly sore tummy. And four moods in a day I can't believe how much I am crying.Just want to ask if this will all go soon. Xxx

Yes yes Birdy Women need to know! I had test that came back showing I had thyroid issues and the doctor marked them as normal.I have never had a mental health issues.I have had thyroid issues.
Women with another family member with a thyroid issue are 85% likely to have one.In that case family history and symptoms should be a diagnosis without blood test that can easily come back normal.I have told all my friends out of 5 four are positive for it also.If you have another autoimmune disease it raises you to an 80% chance of having it.I just feel women are just in the to hard basket. Our forbears did us know favours by saying just get on with it.xx

Hi! ask for a referral to a endocrinologist - your Hospital should have a web-site so that you can see which specialities are available, then ring the appropriate secretary to see how long the waiting list might be.

Hormone upheaval can cause intense tiredness  :-\

Hi Birdy you are beautiful. The specialist and the doctor have told me I won't know my self and I will love being on HRT and should probably take is for 10 years.I am fining the wont know myself on it a stretch as I am not feeling wonderful yet!Ha.
How many of us don't know that
Heart palpitations
Anxiety
Depression
Feeling hot or cold all the time
Aches and pains
Vertigo/Dizziness
Weight gain weight loss
Can all be signs of Thyroid.
Birdy I was amazed when the specialist said HRT is the go to medication because the go to medication for thyroid conditions is Synthroid but I am way past that! With having Hashimoto's
I  should have been put on hormone replacement after having my last child and I would have come right.I have been let down for 25 years by doctors.I have had severe break downs that I now find out we're NOT breakdowns but thyroid storms with crippling anxiety and panic.
I am on Day 10 and struggling a bit with my emotions and just a slightly sore tummy.I was blown away with what the doctor told me about HRT and so saddened for all women in this world.😓
They will monitor me and fingers crossed and everything else that I do get to have a life it's been 25 years since I felt normal.
🍀✅🤞🙏
