I'm going to assume you mean black cohosh, not black grosh.
If you're interested in using herbs, I'd advise you to go and see a herbalist. I know a little, but I haven't done three years of training that also includes anatomy.
In terms of the heat, they might prescribe wild asparagus, but they'd take a full history from you and determine whether that would work ... as regards anti depressant properties, herbalists tend not to put everything into the same wrapper, so they'd talk to you about your 'depression' or 'anxiety'.
Long story short, I wouldn't buy things off the shelf, they won't have the effect you're looking for, instead think about seeing a specialist (herbalist) and chat through the results you want to see. Be prepared for it to be a fairly long journey. Herbs should be gentle and work with you, not impose something on you. As it goes, I wouldn't reach for the cohosh, the species is native to the Americas and sometimes doesn't resonate well with us here in Europe. It's pretty hardcore, along with the other cohoshes.
