I've never even heard of them.  Are they available in the UK?

Collysully - there have been a few women on here who have used them. They are a wonderful E replacement method but unfortunately not routinely available on nhs unless you have oestrogen levels that won't budge on any other method. Privately, they're available no problem.

Let us know if you get one, interested to hear as most women who use them never post again, presumably because they're amazing!

Tracey E, I think it's hormone pellet implants and I've often seen Chelsea & Westminster hospital referred to as a place that does them x

Here is some information from one of the hospitals about implants (as countrygirl says these are the same as pellets):

I asked my (private GP ) menopause specialist about oestrogen pellets and she strongly advised against. She said that they degrade relatively rapidly in terms of dose, but you can't readily remove them, so you end up putting another in, and then you can't tell what dose of oestrogen someone is getting...however there's quite a lot in favour on Studd's site. Or you can look here at some pros and cons...https://www.chelwest.nhs.uk/services/womens-health-services/gynaecology-services/menopause-and-pms-clinics/links/CWMENOPAUSEPMSguidelines2014v3.2.pdf
I've not had them this was just what I found and have been advised.

Birdy - they're very popular in the US, particularly for hysterectomised ladies. I imagine they're more suited to either post meno or surgical meno ladies as our own hormones have stopped swinging about so much and we're easier to monitor.

Hello,

I can tell you that I've been having estrogen and testosterone pellet implants for 2 years now.........

I absolutely hate hear say...... early on in my journey I fell into the trap of people saying what the think they know about all things menopause without even experiencing something.....

So I'm here to tell you that whilst they are not for everyone I haven't met anyone yet you hasn't got on with them....

I have one inserted every 6 months after 3 years of wearing 2x100 everol patches..... and I've never in my whole life felt better..... I'm the fittest and slimmest I've ever Been, I'm no longer the shell of a women that I used to be..... I was terrified when I first started them but there is no need to be, there is always an adjustment period which can a little rocky but you get that with everything.... I'm all for jumping in with both feet!!! It can't get any worse!!

Xx
