Oestrogen Ring
« on: November 04, 2019, 07:17:23 PM »

Hi All,

After speaking with a GP today as I'm unable to get my usual HRT they suggested an oestrogen ring? Im so confused as thought this was only to treat local symptoms like vagifem does??.
Or offered Tibilone?.

Any Advice appreciated.

I thought the estrogen ring was local too.

Yes you are correct the Estring is local like vagifem and Ovestin.

Perhaps you could let us know which HRT you were using and someone may be able to come up with an alternative product you could ask for.

Good luck

Hi

I thought so, im currently using 100mcg Estradot. So the ring would be a million miles away from that.

Ive tried Estraderm, and Evorel but neither are suitable for various reasons. I've also taken tibiolne but straight after surgucal menopause. Tried oestrogel but suffered migranes and hot flushes.

There is this helpful link from the 'HRT Supply shortage thread' on 'All things Menopause'
