Hi there Anaise- the local trusts vary in what they recommend but your doc does not need to go by their recommendations. I have said many times before on here that NONE of the HRT I have prescribed by my local GP is on my local formulary list. As far as I understand it, your docs can prescribe ANY HRT that is licensed provided they put a note on your records with the prescription - this is what my GP told me. Otherwise what would be the point of the licensing? It is UK wide. I even get testosterone prescribed on NHS which isn't even licensed for women ( well not the products currently available). If you can justify why you want it then your GP can prescribe it but you will need to stand firm. If not then find someone in the practice who is willing to write the note on your prescrption records.
Also re your Q about being UK based - in this forum, as it's a UK based website run by UK gynae, I think the default assumption is that everyone is from UK unless they say otherwise. We have many members and friends from across the globe but they would normally let us know where they are if not in UK - otherwise we would have to be asking all the time!
Good luck with getting Intrarosa if this is what you want to try!
