Joint/muscle pain
« on: October 19, 2019, 01:18:24 PM »

Hi ladies, just wondering which hormone helps joint & muscle pains? on estrogel & utrogestan at the moment but in lots of arm, shoulder, hand pains. Waiting for testosterone to arrive - is this what will help the pain? xx

As oestrogen levels drop muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  Have U tried an over the counter pain relief?

Yes, tried paracetamol, ibuprofen, pills & gel & salonpas patches - which gave me chronic heartburn!! My shoulder & arms are particularly bad when driving or in bed. Only been on estrogel for a week so do you think this will help eventually CLKD??

Hopefully as the body absorbs the estrogel you will notice a difference.  Do you keep a mood/symptom/food diary?

Hiatus hernia and frozen shoulder affect many menopausal women so keeping joints moving is important.  If the shoulders are troublesome self-refer to a physio. for exercises?

I had pain in my hips, down the outside rather than inside the joint, which has gone now. Can't remember how long it took but it was a long time, possibly 3 months. I was pulling muscles easily and testosterone has improved this, it seems to be good for muscle tone. Haven't had to do pelvic floor exercises since being on it. Might be worth checking with your doc though in case it's arthritis or something else going on.
