Early bleed on Utrogestan
« on: October 01, 2019, 06:58:03 PM »

Have been taking for nearly a year now, initially vaginally and for the last few months orally (200mg for 12 days out of 28). Combined with 75mg Estradot patch. When taking orally, my bleed starts before the 12 days is finished, a couple of times on day 7 and this month on day 3. I am guessing this means it's not being as well absorbed orally - my question is, do I need to continue for the full 12 days even when the bleed has finished before the 12 days is up?

Yes always continue to do the full cycle. Hopefully you will get a proper withdrawal bleed. If you are peri-menopausal it could be your own cycle kicking in? If you are post then yes maybe absorption issues but hopefully will settle.

The early bleeding seems to be a proper bleed, lasts 4/5 days which is usual for me. I don't get any further bleeding after stopping Utrogestan so assume this means lining has shed. I might go back to taking vaginally next time just to see what happens! Thanks for quick response.

Hurdity, why should you carry on with utro when the bleed has started?
