Thanks...
How strange that different Dr's advise different ways...
Quite frankly I feel I need all the help I can,
this meno stuff seems to have upped it's game with me over the last few weeks..

Hi

I use Ovestin in my vagina and outer bits I used to use vagifem but experienced hair shedding 5 weeks into it and on there website it lists hairloss as side effect but Ovestin works because gynocologist said my vagina is now well estronised but I'm thinking of increasing to 3 times per week as I get a bit damp the day before I'm due to apply it .

But menopause specialist I'm under said it's fine to alternate between Ovestin and vagifem and to also use both vagifem inside and Ovestin outside but I've stuck with Ovestin as don't want to loose more hair

KY Jelly is designed for inner and outer vaginal use.  I have found it suitable for over 45 years without problems.  Add to that 'ovestin' regularly and my vaginal health has improved.

One cannot 'over dose' on oestrogen products 'down there' ;-).  GPs seem to worried about ladies using too much  ::)

I've just returned from seeing my Dr with on going problems down there...dryness, sore and burning.
I use Vagifem twice weekly but still suffer.
She has prescribe me a cream to see if I prefer it, suggesting using it nightly for the first two weeks then twice weekly there after.
I asked if I could use both cream and Vagifem once the initial 2 weeks were over and she said that it isn't recommend...

Does anyone do this?
Twice weekly Vagifem was probably not enough, many folk use more than that, and use Ovestin as well on the labia. Vagifem now only comes in a 10 mcg dose, whereas there used to be a 25 mcg version as well. I wonder why she says it's not recommended. You could ask her what she thinks will happen   ::). I use Vagifem every other night, and Estriol Cream externally every night at the moment.

I think it's also important to use a vaginal moisturiser alongside the oestrogen products, preferably one of the Yes products or Sylk.

My prescription for the cream wasn't at the chemist today....sent electronically.
But the Dr definatly said not to use it while I'm using Vagifem..
Even wrote a note on the screen that she'd advised me not to....

Having read a post about someone being given the wrong type of cream I'm just hoping that I've been prescribed the correct type...
