That is a sentence I never thought I'd ever say!

Anyway, in a recent post I mentioned that I'd been prescribed Androfemme by Dr Newson, and after nearly falling through the floor when I found out the cost, I asked if it was available on the Nhs. As we all know it isn't but she did say that things are happening in the background to change this.

Anyway I've just looked at her website and it seems things may be going in the right direction which is great for me and my bank balance!

Check it out:

https://www.menopausedoctor.co.uk/news/calls-for-testosterone-to-be-licensed-in-uk-for-postmenopausal-women

I'm due to see her again in January so I'll ask again then.

Wouldn't it be marvellous to get this on the Nhs, especially formulated for women. X

I've just re-read the full Guardian article and it says:

"Nick Panay, a consultant gynaecologist who was on the IMS panel, said the benefits of testosterone for women were clear. He advised that women contact the Department of Health to get the hormone licensed in the UK, “because they're much more likely to listen to women than to us”

How do we do this? Surely there has to be power in numbers with this one. X

I know, I'm really excited about it (saddo). If this happens it will save me an absolute fortune and help so many women. Hopefully as it is produced in Australia there won't be no sodding brexit shortages either!

Brilliant news, I've been waiting for this too. Don't forget though that we did previously have a specific T product for women- intrinsa patches - which were withdrawn because of cost issues. It's about time this situation was rectified. I'll have a look at writing to the department of health x

Update

I've written to the department of health. It's really easy, you just go on their website and contact them by submitting an enquiry x

Great news!

Every time I mention to ppl that I'm taking testosterone, I get the same crazy look followed by them taking a step back and saying don't get aggressive or turn into a man will you haha! Not laughing, there is so much ignorance even by women on this subject.

I wonder what the actual difference is in this female formula compared to Testogel? Is it any different or is it just in a better-measured dose bottle?

I'm not sure what the difference is. The Androfemme comes in a tube but I don't know if the formula is different, I assume so?
