No bleed on utrogestan
« on: August 23, 2019, 08:02:12 PM »

Hi girls !
I haven't been here in a while , have had a recent bereavement and just trying to plod along .
Could any one advise about utrogestan 'since I changed hrt to evorel 25mcg patches and 14 days of utro I'm concerned I'm not having a bleed.
I also seem to be having flushes now which didn't have before 😮
Previously I was on Evorel sequi 50mcg but felt very hyper on them ,palpitations etc as though I had too much caffeine. Also the last two weeks combined patches I felt awful as though I had bad pmt and tummy extremely swollen.
Considering paying to see specialist like Dr Currie as our GPs are dismissive and not very understanding even though one of them is a woman and around my age !! My energy levels are very low but I do sleep better on hrt and less moody /irritable.
Like a lot of people on here I expected hot flushes but not everything else ;the anxiety ,achey joints swollen tummy low libido, va etc .Could have a good scream !!

Hi, friend of lhasa apso,
So sorry about your recent loss
. I am sure much more knowledgeable ladies will be along to help soon..
Just a thought, you have reduced your patch strength so maybe your womb lining is thin so no bleed. I too sometimes don't have a bleed but get some symptoms on utro... You have obviously been under a lot of stress too which may add to how you feel.. I would go to the gp if you're worried, Hope things get better soon  Luna x

I am about 12 years post-meno and only once had a bleed during this time on sequi HRT.

I'm on my third cycle of sequi HRT, 7 years postmenopause, also on 25mcg patch & have not yet had a bleed.  Ironic, since I bled intermittently throughout 2 years "no-bleed" conti regimes which were started several years postmenopause!

Hi,
I haven't had a bleed in ten months on utro.  I am now getting repeated flushes, feel  feverish, anxious and insomniac. Think oestrogen level is too low and lining too thin to bleed.
Feel like I'm running out of gas

Hi everyone, I too haven't bled on 2 pumps Oestrogel and 8 days 200mgs utrogestan for months.  I do get regular uterine scans but endometrium isn't building up.  I'm post meno.  Also anxious (mornings are truly awful), jittery and wake about 4 am with my head full of cr&p!!!
Likely your endometrium is thin so try not to worry x

I'm learning so much here!

I've just posted about concerns about bleeding constantly on a no-bleed regime, but I think I'd be very concerned not to have any bleeding at all.

That statement gives away my total lack of knowledge about HRT. I had no idea it was bad not to bleed until my gynae sent me for a scan to see how deep my lining was and mentioned me having a biopsy - which scared the living daylights out of me.

I feel lucky to have found this board for the support and advice I've had. I've no advice for you but I hope you get it sorted soon.

Thank you for all your replies ladies ,
I'm going to check with doc as I just don't feel "right"at the moment .
I keep on getting worried there's something seriously wrong with me ,but your comments have reassured me .☺
So if I'm post meno now ,how much utrogestan should I take ?&for how long ?

Totally agree with the others. Your oestrogen is too low hence the flushes and low energy levels and your not feeling right. The Utrogestan you are taking is the standard licensed dose probably for medium dose oestrogen (on average) so your progresterone is more than enough to prevent your endometrium from thickening and hence the no-bleed. If you still  have VA and are not doing so already, then you may also need local oestrogen so get yourself some vagifem or estriol cream asap! Taking utrogestan all the time can have a depressive effect so if you are happy to do so I would continue with a cycle for a while at least for a few months after increasing the oestrogen, to see how you feel.
