I'm happy on my HRT regime, but also have high prolactin levels due to a pituitary prolactinoma.  As my prolactin had increased significantly at recent blood test, my endocrinologist wants me to either stop using testosterone and/or reduce my oestrogen dosage.   I am reluctant to do either, as it has taken a while to find the right combination to be symptom free. I have also previously been told by HRT consultant that HRT wont raise prolactin levels. Endo thinks my oestrogen level is too high at 413, but also told me that I needed to have the bloods done 48 hrs after patch change, not the 24 hrs it was done at. He has also suggested I could try DHEA instead of testosterone. And basically that doing nothing is no longer an option.   I am trying to contact  my HRT consultant before I alter anything, but would value any info others here can share.

My specific questions are:
Anyone tried DHEA?
What is the best time to measure serum oestrogen in relation to a patch change?
What is the best time to measure serum testosterone in relation to gel application?

Sorry, realise its a bit specialised, but here's hoping........
