Hi everyone
Do I need a gp letter to fly with Oestrogel in hand luggage or is the repeat prescription slip enough?
Thanks in advance for your help x

If it's more than 100ml you will need a letter.

No you don't need a letter. I took the box as well with my name on it but didn't need it. It is smaller than the allowed size x

I'm needing to think about this too in a week or so. I don't get my gel on repeat prescription (maybe they just think it's early days) so I don't have any kind of paperwork at all. I was wondering whether I needed to get a doctors letter to put with my bottle? We're only flying with hand luggage but I could put the actual box with my name etc on it in my bag too? If I need a letter I guess I need to get on the case ASAP.

If it's less than 100ml as Dotty said, you wont need a letter, it's only if the contents are over 100ml.

I haven't had a problem leaving the UK but can be harder coming back especially if it's from somewhere with heightened security. Had a prescription with me returning from Turkey and he still wanted to confiscate it.

Thanks, I'll see if the doc will do a letter just to be on the safe side. Prescriptions are too flipping expensive for them to confiscate! X
