Hello! New member here
« on: August 09, 2019, 02:15:17 PM »

I'm from Ireland, 46 yr old, and am absolutely bedevilled with symptoms.
My GP recommended this site to explore options etc
Delighted that there is an online community as none of my close female friends ever really discuss menopause/ haven't experienced it yet, so I' not only bright red, sweaty & sleep deprived but also lonely!

You won't be lonely on here  ;) we talk about menopause sometimes and have threads on everything: dogs, gardening, swimming, cycling, fun and games  ::)

Let us know your age, family commitments, ask away ...........

Hi CuChlar, welcome to the forum, that's great that your GP recommended this website & forum, GP's generally quite ignorant in relation to most things menopause. Im 41yrs and same situation no friends who have similar issues, although recently a colleague which is good sharing thoughts/sympathy!! Read up as much as you can & it will stand you in good stead, will give you more understanding & helps when dealing with professionals. No need to be lonely on here (I joined a few months ago & it's been invaluable). x

Hi. My Peri symptoms started around 45 too. I had never heard of it before that! I have had a delightful array of stringy brown gunk mid period, tingling extremities, sleep problems, gastric delights like huge old man burps. It has been quite a ride. So much confusing info out there , some from GPs! I'm afraid it is a 'see what works for you' experience as no two people seem to have the same Meno. At least here you can find sympathy and empathy based on peoples experiences. I would say try and look to the future and be positive as it is easy to be engulfed by all the on-line info. Also stay well clear of Dr Google!

Lack of oestrogen can cause hiatus hernia, reflux etc..  We have threads here about those  ::)

In fact - is there anything that ins't affected?
