panic attack and vivid dreams on femoston 1/10
« on: July 08, 2019, 08:10:48 PM »

Hello
I am depressed and on antidepressants- have been for many years on the tablets.
I am now perimenopausal. V irregular periods- although I am still getting them.
Fluctuations in mood, anxiety and my 1st ever panic attack on Thursday last week. I ended up in A and E with a resting pulse of 138.
I am on day 15 of my 1st ever HRT- Femoston 1/10. I have looked up the side effects and it doesn't mention panic attacks. The panic just came over me for no reason- I had chest pain too. The Drs did an ECG and took bloods- which were all normal. I was discharged with no further treatment.
Can HRT actually cause a panic attack? I am also not sleeping- which is due to the depression I think. When I do get a couple of hours sleep I get v vivid dreams. These too have just started to happen.
On femoston- I have just started the grey progesterone tablets. I believe at the end of these I will get a bleed?? Is this correct.
This website has been a great resource for me. I am 48 yrs old.

HORMONES  >:( can certainly cause all kinds of weird symptoms.

High levels of anxiety can be awful.  I've had panic attacks since age 3.  Eased by regular medication.  How did the attack affect you?

Medication can certainly cause vivid dreams - we have threads here  ::).  My brain picks off an item of news, adds people not seen for years, then muddles it and off it goes.  Really weird sometimes  ::)

Have you read the leaflet in the packet?  Or put the product name into the search box here and make notes ;-)

Hi
Thanks for responding CLKD.
I saw my GP the next day and have been given 10 5mg diazepam tablets. I find these help when feeling anxious.
I haven't had any more panic attacks. I have a review with Dr this week.
Leaflet in packet doesn't mention HRT causing panic or vivid unpleasant dreams.
About to put product name in to search box on here

You are right!! I definitely have "brain fog" at the moment.

No I haven't read the thread you mention- but I will take a look.
I "had" rats in my room that were biting me. I didn't and there was nothing there.
I feel I am going mad. Never had any experience like this before. really scary though.

Please respond to my posts wherever best suites you. I posted the same questions twice- and so am checking both posts for replies
