Hi,
I had local anaesthesia at the dentist yesterday. It's really left me out of sorts, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, awful nightmares, etc. I usually get side effects from it and was just wondering if anyone else gets any?

Hi spangles,was it the injection in the mouth? I had one last week,very deep one at that 😖 the only symptom I can say I get is woozy headed,wonder if dentists use different anaesthetics,maybe you could ask him/her if they have a alternative one

I don't have anaesthesia  I always thought it was horrible so one day I asked the dentist do I really need it ? He was a bit shocked but said we can try.  That was a few years ago now and I've had lots of big and deep fillings, I'm not saying I don't feel anything but it's really not bad and if I want the dentist to stop I just have to raise my hand, but it's never happened.

I'm now not the only member of my family that goes anaesthetic free

Birdy,I'm such a numpty like that too,last time I was getting a breast examination,once the dr had finished,she said,ok,that's you,I got up off couch TOPLESS and opened the wrong door, I was standing there totally disoriented wondering why I was looking down a busy corridor,aw geeze,I've never lived it down 🤣

L[ocal] A[aneasthetic] shouldn't have any side effects other than making the area numb.  But laying down may have an impact on the cervical spine = dizziness/woozy feelings. You must tell your dentist B4 any further treatment.

I went last week and have a sore area - it's like a nerve is trapped  after 2 fillings in the same area.  The 1st fell out  .  Both LA needles were painful+++  .  It's not painful enough to take 'nurofen' but I am aware ...... once le Tour is over I will go back if it's troublesome.
