Panic attack
« on: July 05, 2019, 09:50:30 PM »

So this certainly came left field. I'm 54 and meno and on oestrogel and Progesterone. Since being on this I feel, on the whole apart from a few niggles, really good. I am calm and my life, aside from this is in a really good place, Yesterday I went to give blood and my iron was 12.1 so they wouldn't take it. They assured me that this wasn't anaemia but that their requirements are really strict. Anyway, last night woke up at 1:30am having the most horrendous panic attack. The sort you feel you are about to have a heart attack, can't breathe, feel faint etc. When I had post natal depression I'd get them but that was 18 years ago and I've never had one since. I wondered if it could be either something to do with the HRT or something to do with a lack of iron. I've just had my thyroid checked and that was bang on normal. Any one any thoughts?

HORMONES!

Plus not eating if you were giving blood? or worrying after.  How R U this morning, I would be SO tired after.

Make sure that you eat regularly as low blood sugar can trigger anxiety.
