Quality of Life - VA
« on: June 20, 2019, 08:44:00 AM »

That has been my mantra for the last 24 hours.  VA symptoms began on Monday afternoon so I have used 'ovestin' every night since.  Mid Tuesday I noticed that my L breast is sore.  No redness.  No bumps.  No change in the nipple.  I went to sleep at 10.30 p.m. and woke for a bathroom visit at mid-night.  Then the worry began  :-\

I was awake for several hours, I read, I pondered.  Soreness remains the same.  I have been busy in our garden as well as hauling suitcases around ....... it's the opp side to the breast that was operated on in the 1990s.

Watch and wait.  .......  too sore for ultra-sound etc..

Sounds mechanical to me.  I had similar problem a year or so ago and it turned out to be inflamed cartalige where the ribs meet the breast bone.  Discomfort was quite widespread though and kept me wake at night.

Try some anti inflammatory pain killers and see if that helps.

It does sound mechanical you've been doing a lot.

Lots of ladies in my VA group use local after breast cancer, & some even take HRT for QOL.

Hopefully it will pass, & your worry can stop.

It's probably better to use it twice a week continuously, rather than stop start, as stop start there is more chance of it getting into the blood stream as the vagina will absorb more each time the VA reappears, where as if kept plump will absorb less.

:thankyou:  I have been pruning etc. in our garden for 2 hours and realised that the soreness has receded.

DH suggested it's due to our extra working since the rain stopped  ::)

I can usually brush issues away but in the early hours, I'd got me dead and cremated   ;)

Hi CLKD
I think sometimes we forget that we've done some manual work or used muscles we haven't used for a long time - your soreness  certainly sounds like that.

I can get such pain just from sweeping the garden. I do hope all is well 😀

CLKD - big hugs to you, I know that once the breast cancer bug has bitten once it's never far from your mind, no matter how long ago it was. But don't forget, breast cancer very very rarely presents itself with pain, so it's far more likely to be the extra activity.

CLKD. I can understand why you were worried with what you've been through. It's only natural. But I'm glad to hear its easing off. Big hug. Xxxx

Take it easy. Maybe take a break and just enjoy looking at that garden you've worked so hard on. Lovely day for a spot of lunch outside. It is here anyway.  Xxx
