Hello everyone
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 47!! My sister has been type 1 since she was about 26 so I was told that I had a higher risk of developing it. That's when I also became perimenopausal, coincidence?!?!? Blood sugar levels all over the place.
It's not until I came across this fabulous website that I've come to think that I need help. Mood swings (really bad with my teenage daughter & feel so guilty), aching legs especially when I'm trying to sleep, tiredness, lack of sleep (hence this post at 03:30!!), brain fog, lack of concentration, but the worst is the lack of body temperature control (I'm mainly too hot!) sweating profusely when it's cold!! Enbarassing!! Supposed to wear a uniform but it's awful as I'm too hot and the trousers are made of viscose material (I'm going to try and buy some cotton ones!!!)
I've got an appointment with my GP at 7am so am going armed with examples and evidence to ask to be referred to Sheffield Menopause Clinic and won't leave until the referral has been made!! Reading a post earlier about how come health professionals don't work and/or communicate with each other when there are clear contraindications for some people. I had a scan on my neck about 12 years ago and the GP I was seeing at that time told me it was osteoarthritis and as it is in C5/6 there is nothing that can be done, he didn't tell me that it was diagnosed as being moderate to severe. I don't want it to get any worse so have that in my list of symptoms too.
Thank you for listening to my rant and will update you later after I've seen my GP, hope I don't sleep through the alarm, wait I had better check my blood sugar levels too.
Jackie
