Thank you ladies
Katejo, that would be very helpful to know how you get on. I have been using a whole patch since I started last October. Had a wobble now & again so reduced it to half then went back to a full patch.
Good luck with your appt ![Smiley :)](https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/Smileys/extended/smiley.gif)
Remind me if I forget to give you an update. ![Smiley :)](https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/Smileys/extended/smiley.gif)
Hi katejo. Did you have your appointment yesterday? If so, how did it go?
Hi Charlie62
Yes I did have my appointment. I told the consultant that 1. the half patches had made no difference to me at all (benefits or side effects) 2. That I had briefly trialled full patches, firstly a month ago for 1 week (2 patches) and then in the last week. I didn't initially see any changes during my first trial but then had a really good week in the middle of June when my VA symptoms were much better. After that they returned when I went back to half patches.
I remembered what you had said about Dr Currie's advice on using half patches so I made a point of telling him this and asking why he had started me on half patches. He was dismissive of the idea that half patches of Evorel Conti could only be used for a limited period. He had started me on halves because the usual practice is to start on a low dose and see if that works. He has now increased me to full patches and will see me again in 6 months.
You were concerned about loss of hair. I haven't had any of that yet at all. My hair is particularly thick. Any new hairdresser comments on this every time! I will let you know if I do notice this after being on full patches for a while. I am hoping that my hair might become less dry which it has been for a long time. I also don't know whether I might get slight spotting/bleeding on the full patches. Absolutely nothing yet.
I am also hoping for an improvement in muscle/joint aches and pains, particularly in my calves/feet which I have had for years. When i asked about this yesterday, he suggested that I needed more supportive shoes (I was wearing flat loafer style shoes but i don't want to wear heavy shoes in the summer).
I hope that this is a helpful update? I will let you know how it goes when i have been on full patches for longer.
