Hi all,
I have been reading and writing on this forum as I tried different methods of HRT. I would like to inform others the latest developments on my journey hoping that this may help someone else.
I am 46. I had surgery for endometriosis 10.5 years ago and 6 years ago I had a baby. I started HRT 6.5 months ago and in the past couple of months I started to suffer from abdominal pain and stomach cramps. Scans showed a cyst. I recently saw an endo specialist who confirmed that I now have deep infiltrating endometriosis. The conclusion is HRT flared up endometriosis. Oestrogen is to to blame here.
Mirena is a good option for endo sufferers. The only thing stopping me from having Mirena is the type of progesteron in it. I am very sensitive to progesteron and I find that Ultrogestan (taken vaginally) agrees with me.
Consultant took me off Oesrogen patches and suggested Oestrogel. He said use only one pump (max 2 pumps) and if you feel ok, don't bother at all. I am new to this new regime and we will see how I get on.
Does anyone else skip Oestrogel depending on their symptoms? I guess the aim is to have control over and cope with as little oestrogen as possible. Not sure how my body will respond and if I will be bleeding erratically. Only time will tell.
Any comments will be gratefully received.
Kind Regards,
