Hello ladies, I could really do with your help at the moment. Briefly, I had terrible meno symptoms (but mainly pain) from 42-48 until finally I saw a specialist. Was on "bio-identical"' hormones for 18 months which helped at first but she changed me to Oestrogel (100mgs) and Utrogestan (twice a day) 3 and a half weeks ago. I am on continuous HRT as I havent had a period for 6 months and I was struggling with the other regime, she does scans regularly to check the womb and she says it is unlikely that I will have any more periods so it is ok to take it continuously. I havent had any irregular bleeding or spotting.
I was feeling amazing until this weekend when I was hit with the worst joint pain I've ever had - really unbearable, leg cramping and muscle aches, hot flushes, which have improved a little today, crashing fatigue again and really dry skin. It has really affected me and I admit im in a bit of a state. I dont know if its a bad reaction to the HRT, my own hormones fluctuating while I adjust to it as I know it is early days, but this has been so severe after being relatively well for the last 18 months I dont know what to do. I contacted my doctor for advice but she hasnt replied. Mentally its been such a blow, I dont really want to go back to the old life I had for 5 years of feeling dreadful - I wasn't helped my GPs as they said I had fibromyalgia, but I have been so well on HRT I dont think it was. If this a side effect that will settle I can cope. Thanks in advance.
