Bloods.
« on: May 26, 2019, 02:10:30 PM »

I've noticed in a few of the different threads references to various bloods. When you have been started on HRT (9+ weeks in) should you be having any follow up bloods tested and what ones? Sorry but new to all this. I have a review in 2 weeks so just wanting to know is it just review of symptoms & BP the GP should routinely check?

My Gynae won't do hormone blood tests for menopause as the levels alter all the while.  He treats on symptoms.  Maybe keep a mood/food/symptom diary?

I've been on HRT for 12 years but have never had my blood tested for hormone levels. I think just an overall check of blood pressure, any weight changes, headaches etc will be all that's done. Let us know how you get on.

Taz2 I assumed that, was double checking. I've been keeping a mood/food/symtpom diary for 3 years cause initially menopause was discounted due to my age & a random positive methylhistamine urine which resulted in me going from specialist to specialist for weird and wonderful investigations for rare conditions. Eventually ended up back at GP who actually listened to me & diagnosed peri menopause.
