Side effects Vaginal Utrogestan anyone?
« on: May 11, 2019, 06:24:08 AM »

I started taking Uterogestan vaginally one week ago. I have always been acutely sensitive to any form of progesterone & since taking it via the vaginal route, the flat (ie. mood) feeling has improved but I have started to get left ovary pain (like I used to get when I was ovulating in the past).  I have a history of PCOS which I suppose might be relevant.  Has anybody had this kind of side effect at all??

Morning!  I suggest that you put the product name into the search box and see what pops up.  Sat. might mean less people around?  make notes ;-)

I get ovarian pain too - like they're waggling about!
Utrogestan doesn't agree with me at all and I've decided to stop using it after bleeding continuously for four days now - I've always been lucky and had light periods but this is something else! It's like a tap has been turned on x

Thanks both. Will ask for a scan from the GP. I also have had bleeding on Utrogestan which is a shame as it suits me moodwise.

I had pain in the left side two, I even had a laporoscopy to see why but nothing, it was almost like a throb, I had a camera inserted in my neck down to my ovary and said could be a vein so they clamped it 😮 but I still get it. And I also kept beeping when I had a bone scan so must be a metal clamp! Xx

Wow - sounds v strange Butterfly22 - how weird!

Well it's my Second week of taking Uterogestan via the vaginal route and my left sided pain has totally settled down. I'm beginning to think it was probably just a temporary side effect whilst my body got used to the new way of absorbing Utrogestan. Fingers crossed.
