Hi, I am on 8th week of HRT (2 pumps of oestrogel daily & 1 Utrogestan tablet).
I take Utrogestan for 25 days, 3 day break, then start day 1 again.
My GP said I may or may not have a bleed during the 3 day break or just thereafter.
In the first cycle I didn't have any bleeding at all. During the second cycle, 3 weeks into it, I've had a proper “period “, with very sore breasts, tummy pain & bleeding, enough to have to use tampons & sanitary towels together. It's not excessive bleeding, but I would say just a normal period, but not had one previously for 9 months, so it was a bit of a shock- it lasted for 4 days from start to finish.
Is this normal? I wasn't expecting to have a full on period 😳 I just expected a small bleed during the 3 day break or perhaps some breakthrough bleeding 😏
Is this something I should expect regularly?

Hi if you weren't period free for a year before you started hrt then it's likely that your body isn't ready for continuous hrt and that's why you are bleeding. Or you may be ok on continuous hrt but need to give your body 6 months to settle and bleeding can be expected in this time x
