New member anxious

I have never done anything like this before! I am 52 and have been in denial about menopause symptoms for a few years, in February everything came to a head and I became extremely anxious, something I have not had before. I started on Everol 25 on the 7th March and after about 4 days felt on top of the world, the symptoms of night sweats and anxiety started to come back after about 4 weeks and my gp upped me to Everol 50. On the 10th April I went to see a specialist clinic and was upped to Everol 100.

That was a week ago and although things are better and I feel well for a part of each day, there are some parts where I still feel very anxious.

Has anyone else had a similar experience and will hrt work for me?

Hi it can take up to 3 months to feel the full benefits of hrt. Are you taking progesterone too? X

Thank you - I have a Mirena coil for that part , I have had it for over 12 years replaced regularly.

It was so good to get an immediate improvement on the 25s and although I think I am feeling a bit calmer I wish it was quicker. Some nights I sleep fantastically but last night hardly at all.

I used to be such a level headed person .......

Hi the Mirena is a very good form of progesterone, so keep on with that.

Evorel 100 is quite a high dose and it may have been better to stay on 50 for longer to see if it helped further.  Where was the specialist clinic that you went to? x

My anxiety and insomnia took most of the 3 months before there was much improvement. I'm on gel so have been able to vary the dose. If I have too much they return. 4 pumps is too much for me (I think this is equivalent to 100 but not certain), a little over 3 works best. If it was me I would have increased more slowly though perhaps she saw your levels were low, mine haven't been tested so relying on symptom control.

It is unusual to go from 50mg to 100mg as there is a 75mg and you do have to give each at least 3 months to see any benefit. I'm on a 100mg and have been for just under 3 months, I still have mild bouts of anxiety. Just going to see what happens.
