sequential to combined HRT
« on: April 16, 2019, 04:14:17 PM »

Hi All
I am 51 and on Femoston 2/10 which suits me. Started HRT at 49 when I was still having periods (one every 3/4 months).

Thing is I now rarely bleed on my sequential HRT and when I do it might be once every 3/4months and so far very light and over in 48 hours.

At what point is it sensible to go on continuous HRT. I intended in next 2 years to switch to transdermal.

Any advice welcome as my GPs are not a reliable source of information when it comes to treating 50% of their f######(see I didnt swear...I'm nice!) population!

Although I agree with Stellajane in principle the main problem is that Femoston is not available as 2 mg in continuous, just the 1 mg dose (and lower), and you would have to take twice as much progestogen if you doubled up (one possibility). Dropping your oestrogen by that much you might experience a resurgence of symptoms. Might be worth a try though....

Some ladies do ‘double up' on the Femoston 1/5 (conti) with the blessing of their gynae, might be worth asking about?
