Your views on Elleste Solo or oestrogen implant
« on: March 13, 2018, 03:44:25 PM »

I've been to see a consultant today who doesn't think I'm absorbing estrogel via patch or pump. She wants me to try Elleste solo - or even have an implant.

Anyone had horrible side effects with either? I feel scared!

I would definitely look at the oestrogen implant option.  If you are having absorption problems, you might find that the implant is the answer but you would need to establish your ideal level first.  The best way to do that would be via Oestrogel but you would need to have blood tests when you get to a point when you feel good.  That way, you can be sure you are getting the implant at the right dose.

Not meaning to appear to question your Specialist but wondering what dose patch you tried?
I didn't absorb the gel properly so swapped to patches. They worked at a normal dose for a while then my oestrogen level dropped. It was 195 on 100 mcg patch and I felt ill.

I'm now using 200 mcg and changing three times a week and my level has gone up to 710.

It's a difficult choice you've got to make - which are you preferring at least he moment?

I'm on estrogen implants, they only last three or four months for me, I am finding it a rollercoaster. (and expensive)

6 pumps of oestrogen gel did not work for me.

i have never been prescribed patches and now i am wondering why

Hi
I tried elleste and didn't like it at all, it made me feel the same as when I tried the contraceptive pill (years ago) but couldn't tolerate it x

I'm interested in this thread, noheroicsplease, are you in Scotland and is your consultant on NHS?

Having similar problems with gel, my level was 91 Pmol on 4 pumps a day.

Is elleste a tablet form? Surely the doses will only be 1 or 2 mg which would mean you have less ways of altering the dose.

Elleste solo are tablets. 1mg and 2mg, so not a lot of room for adjustments.  These did me great for years until I hit rock bottom with hormones.  So I think implants would be best x
