1700s history

Last night I happened upon a programme I think on BBC4.  It was centred round a famous painting of a man holding a woman's hand, standing in front of a window.  In the background is a mirror in which the artist has painted the couple.  For Centuries it was thought that the woman is pregnant but apparently not.

The programme was about re-designing the green dress, the way it might have been done at that time.  I found it fascinating.  I'm not into sewing at all but I may well watch it on catch-up.   The presenter has violet eyes and looked fab in what she was wearing.  I think it's on every evening  :-\

My other fascination is the Princess Pochahuntus .......... [pity I can't spell  ::)], Jamestown etc..

Watching Si and Dave on a trip around the Pubs that have history attached, today in St Albans.  Well that has to be a place to put on our list!  Civil War - one side was having breakfast in a Pub in the City and were caught on the hop as it were  ;D
