swollen armpit - should I be concerned?
« on: March 10, 2019, 07:24:30 PM »

Hi all,

I haven't posted in a while because I feel pretty good. Hope you all do too.

However, I've had a swollen armpit for the past 2 weeks. Husband just felt it and said it's def swollen. There are some lumps - I've got history with fatty lumps in the arm, had a mammogram a couple of years ago as a result, all was fine.

But this is different. It is swollen. I'm not ill.

Should I be worried enough to go to the doctor? Should I be worried?

FYI, I'm on Estradot 100mg every 3/4 days / 3 pumps Tostran a week / mirena coil for progesterone

Thanks!

Hi there, I would definitely go to a dr but then I'm paranoid about anything breast related,it's probably nothing but always best to get it checked out.maybe you've just pulled a hair'did it come up suddenly or over a period of time?

maybe a visit to the nurse would put your mind at rest then if she is concerned she can send you to the doctors.  You can normally get nurse appointment next day but in my area doctors appointments hard to get.

See your Practice Nurse or a Pharmacist.  Any lumps should be investigated.

I think see the Dr, it's likely to be a gland fighting something or a cyst. But best to get it checked.

I agree with Saral, I'd go to the gp, you have nothing to lose and peace of mind to gain.

A mammogram 2 years ago doesn't mean an awful lot in the scheme of things, and isn't an insurance, things can change.
Better safe than sorry.
