My mother is known by her middle name but when we go on a family cruise holiday the crew always call her by the first name on her passport - Dorothy, she hates it, the rest if us think it's funny ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's nothing special.
I just hate it......but I think I hate it so much because people used to laugh at it....

Why couldn't she have called me Samantha , or Clair, or something less laughable.

There was an advert, on tele years ago, and the barmaid was called this name...
So everyone used to say it like it was in the ad......a bit sexist.......but then everything was in the 70s/80s.....👎
