Music to my ears....so happy!!
« on: January 29, 2019, 04:34:11 AM »

To all that are suffering like i am,

All i can say is keep going change gp, research and find a specialist!
I have now been given the news that full hysterectomy is my only solution and put on urgent list.  Music to my ears and I am so happy!

I have seen numerous gynaes who just investigated the pelvic pain, had brain scan seen ENT seen neurologist all to have everything is fine! I paid to see Anthony Mander some three years ago who advised severe pms and hysterectomy is my only solution, but no one listenend to him.
I have suffered for the last 3-4 years with migraines/tinnitus/pelvic pain/rage/sobbing/anxiety/sore boobs/ibs/nausea/brain fog/no confidence and just feelings of just giving up as no end in sight but the once a month when my period arrives ( who likes that). Yes i did cause i felt calm and normal
I changed my gp and seen a new gp who has worked in gynae and referred me and requested 1 out of 3 specialists in oldham. I got to see DR Dickson specialises in pms and abnormal bleeding, I walked in and said ‘i hope you are going to be the answer to all my problems that i dance out of here'.... he asked me questions and my symptoms and then just said for you only solution is hysterectomy with oestrogen!
He explained why and it was just as anthony mander had said ‘progesterone intelorent'

He said you are going on the urgent list!

I said music to my ears doctor and i actually did dance out of his office in to a packed waiting room! 😂

I am now looking forward to getting this done and i know this a big op and is long recovery but for me I can't see another 5-10 years of feeling dreadful untill my periods stop

Great news for you. Hope you don't have long to wait. I got lots of support and advice on the Hysterectomy UK forum. It was especially useful to have others to chat to during recovery.

Good news Mazza27. Make sure you keep your ovaries and hopefully your cervix too (I don't know enough about the op though...). However with a sub-total hysterectomy you keep your cervix. BSO is ovary removal.
