Do we have a Uniform like the Suffragettes did?  There's an organisation of ladies whose costume is basically red.  They do Good Works around the country.

When I wear Purple  ;)

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.

I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.

I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Love the poem.
I have seen those ladies out and about  the red hat ladies  I was talking to one of them and she said they wear red and purple but when it's their birthday they wear purple had and red dress. The last group I saw had ladies from 40+.
Great suggestions for names.

If I knew how to post a picture I would re yesterday's round table discussion at Westminster for menopause. It's on my & others social media platforms.

This was all bought about by relentless campaigning by Diane Danzibrink. There where 15 of us in the room, including Dr Louise Newson, Dr Hannah Short , Baroness Jenkins, Womens Health Minister Jackie Doyle Price, 2 more MPs & some other ladies who had a story to tell.

Really good hours discussion, a working committee will be formed of us all the Ministers suggestion, Dr Newson & Diane where excellent regards facts & figures etc.

I think they most definitely no about vaginal atrophy now, the problems it causes, Menopausal women not turning up for smear tests due to pain, & the care of the elderly re V issues.

So a huge thanks for Diane for inviting me, and too think vaginal atrophy was discussed, & lots more in Westminster, I feel hopeful that change will happen & I really hope my daughters will be greeted by more knowledgeable GPs & they themselves will be educated.

Two MPs a male & the minister received a book each 🤗, we all had to introduce ourselves & I was first 😳 those who knew me had big smiles & a chuckle 🥴 when I announced my names Jane Lewis I have written a book called “ Me & My Menopausal Vagina “ plus two young lads in the room, quite a moment really.
