Hi ladies. I'm 40, and was diagnosed as perimenopausal in November of last year. I was put on to estradot patch and utrogestan 100, as I'm still menstruating, the hrt was more to help my moods as that's the only symptoms I've been getting, and a drop in hormones from my last blood test. After I had my last child 14 years ago, my periods became horrendously heavy and erratic, as well as spotting in between and abdominal cramps when I was no where near having my period. I've tried the pill, norethisterone, mefenamic acid and tranexamic acid as well as two Mirena coils, and all have failed at controlling flow, pain and regularity. I'm literally at the end of my tether with the pain I'm in as well as how heavy the flow is. Basically, I flood. I have to wear incontinence pads during the day and nappies at night because I bleed through normal sanitary towels so quickly. I can't wear tampons as the clots I pass are huge and push the tampons out. I've been to gynae, have been told I have an area of thickening of the lining of my womb, then that's it. Discharged. Can I request a hysterectomy, as I can't live my life like this anymore. I have to take days off work if I'm on my period because of the pain or heavyness. I once flooded and covered my work floor, which isn't very good when I work in a school kitchen.
