When do you apply Sandrena?
« on: January 07, 2019, 11:03:31 PM »

Hi, I'm on Sandrena gel 1mg sachet a day, also half a pump of testogel 3 times a week.  In addition to this I take a northisterone tablet at night.

Here is my query, I apply the gels in the morning at the moment, and as I said the progesterone at night.

I've started night sweats about 7 weeks ago, which I never suffered from! I read somewhere that some apply the Sandrena at night and that helped the night sweats. If I do this can I also take my progesterone tablet at night. Could I also apply the testosterone at the same time?

I also find waiting for the Sandrena gel to dry in the morning a complete pain! It takes forever!

Any advice? Thank you.

Just afraid if I put it on at night that I might get day sweats. Anyone had any experience?

Hello

I apply it in the morning after showering.

My night sweats are there when my oestrogen is low. I've gradually increased from 1mg to 2mg Sandrena and the night sweats are so much less frequent.

It shouldn't make any difference to your sweats when you apply the gel. At the correct dose the flushes and sweats should stop whenever you apply it as your oestrogen dose will stabilise.

If you apply it at night - do remember that skin to skin contact with a partner (especially male) should be avoided for at least one hour following application to avoid transfer. This is why most women apply in the morning (but maybe also careful re transfer in the summer depending on where you apply it!). Having tried Sandrena though for a few months - I know what you mean about the drying. It takes flipping ages!

I apply testosterone in the morning but as it's only a pea-sized blob it doesn't take that long to dry. The same advice applies re transfer to partner - but I think the wait time is even longer....

Re the norethisterone - I don't think it matters when you take it at all irrespective of gel application.
