Tostran...and voice...question
« on: January 03, 2019, 01:52:10 PM »

hi all,

I hope you're well.

I've been taking two pumps of Tostran a week since October.

I was unwell last week with a sore throat, chesty lurgy, but I'm not coughing etc etc.

Prior to this - a couple of weeks prior - and still now, my throat feels croaky, especially when I speak to people. I feel I have to clear it.

I know a side effect of too much Tostran can be voice changes; am I being really paranoid? That this isn't what they're talking about...

I had a cold mid-October which left me with a hacking cough as well as the need to continually clear my throat.  2day I am a lot better.   Am not on HRT.

Noheroicsplease -  please don't worry at this point! I very much doubt that you are ODing on T and if you were I doubt it would show so quickly. There is a nasty bug that has been doing the rounds which involved  a bad throat, cold, cough or weird chest - the after effects of which can last for several weeks. I know people who have had it - so if it's the same bug then that may well be the culprit.

I would have thought also you would notice other signs of too much T before voice changes - such as rampant libido, possibly aggressiveness, hair loss etc? It would have to be far too much T to affect the voice I would say?

Having said that your specialist should check your T (and SHBG) levels after 6 months ( if not before?) to check on your dosage - even though T tests for women are not accurate.

Thank you! I knew I was being silly. And no, sadly no raging libido or any more aggressive. Hair is good, better than it has been. In fact, I feel very well on my regime. Sleep is still shite but otherwise all good.

I had blood tests after 8 weeks and will have more in two months. The levels were low/fine.
