Chicken or egg (no pun intended)
« on: January 02, 2019, 07:03:47 PM »

Hiya ladies. Seperate to my post bout gp and consultant hrt debacle today I thought I'd share this with you

Scene: GP surgery.

GP to me:(out of the blue) "it seems you are anxious about the menopause".

ME: "I'm not anxious about the menopause, the menopause is MAKING me anxious!!!!"

GP: "is it making you angry as well"
 :hotflash:
GP: " maybe I phrased the question wrong".

You gotta larf (Or else....)

Too right conolly. She also asked why I still had a womb. Raised her eyebrows to the sky and said why did they remove ovaries and not your womb
I wish I could answer. But I'm f' d if I know.

You should have said: You tell me, you're the doc!

I suppose they have made the decision to let your womb because oophorectomy is minimally invasive compared to hysterectomy. If you have a healthy womb, no need to undergo a major op, but I think you deserved to be informed to have your own decision. I would have had my womb removed, but I'm sure other women would opt to retain it.

I would go back and ask to see the correspondence on your records regarding your surgical intervention  ::)
