Hi von morris. Just read your posts and I could have written them myself!  I think I am maybe a year ahead of you in the Peri 'journey' (aka decent into living hell).  Yr 1 - Mid cycle brown stringy gunk, digestive issues, loose poos, burping, can't tolerate gluten or alcohol like I used to (Told hormones but as a procedurequeue scans = stress) Yr - Mood changes, health anxiety, periods longer and heavier, chronic insomnia Yr 3 Muscle aches, brain fog, short term memory rubbish, tingling/cold hands and feet, periods every 6-8 weeks sometimes, brown gunk before or after periods, anxiety worse Yr 4 Anxiety, anxiety anxiety! Periods maybe every 6 week and a bit heavier.   Main learnings...if you are not sleeping and eating well everything is so much worse anxiety/gut/body wise. I did full sleep makeover - painted room /black out blinds/changed bed layout. No tea or coffee after 4pm. Don't eat late. Find 'easy' book, avoid gadgets. I now have a cold ' washdown' with a flannel before bed which seems to really help. I also do have some GP prescribed sleeping tabs for reassurance. I take 0.5 tab if I have a bad run of 3 nights to get my back on track. I have needed them maybe 3-4 times a year. I take Magnesium and multivits.
My main learning is that no matter what I have taken I will have ups and downs and sometimes my downs are pretty bad (but they get better again). Exercise helps. I too have no one to talk too but have found HUGE comfort from this web site.

I'll just second everything everyone else has said! Particularly Roseneath's four year journey. Anxiety anxiety anxiety.
Can't type anymore at this moment because am in a MENTALPAUSE anxiety spiral due to small bruise on inner elbow which has appeared today. Is it due to blood test two weeks ago or today's health anxiety fuelled incurable disease?!!!
Am also sweating in the kitchen over New Year's Eve dinner for 15 of my family.
Happy New Year Everyone and welcome to Von Morris. May 2019 be happily and healthily menopausal for us all xxx
