Yes, that's it. I don't see the point in losing money taking a day off work (being self-employed) and paying train fares for this. I think I'll ask for referral back to my GP.  >:(

PS I was just looking for where to write to have a moan (about the clinic doc) and I noticed the oestrogen reference range figures on the hospital site: "Serum estradiol results should be between 200-600pmol at six months". So, the ranges this doc gave me were for women on HRT (the ref range on my GP test were for post-meno generally), and at 110 I am definitely below this range. However, I have had a few nights in a row now of almost uninterrupted sleep, so i'll stick to Estradot for now: perhaps i absorb better from this brand  :)

I knew that was wrong - if that was what the clinic doc said to you - obviously there's a difference on HRT and not on HRT!!! Who is this doc -? She does not sound like a menopause spcialist. Maybe it was a meno nurse who wouldn't normally have the same specialist knowledge, but anyway no-one should be practising at a menopause clinic if they don't have the expertise ( nor sympathy either!).

Sorry to hear you're going through this Bo. I've made a complaint about certain 'Specialist' there as the advice I've been given is inaccurate and insensitive.

Thanks both of you. We may have crossed wires over the blood reference ranges but it doesn't matter - the issue is that she didn't seem to want to know all ways round. She seems to be a permanent doctor on Mr Panay's team. I have seen her twice, 1st and 3rd appts both on Thursdays. I can't remember her name but it sounds Greek I think, a petite woman  :-\
