bacterial vaginosis?
« on: October 31, 2018, 10:43:53 PM »

Hi
 :)

I paid to have swabs done privately and the gyno sent the results to my doctor not me. He said everything looked fine.
I had to ask for a copy of exactly what I'd been tested for.

Basically the BV part was Grade Two intermediate, it says I hsve some of the bacteria that causes BV but also normal flora so no treatment but it also says treat according to clinical assessment and retest if needed.

There are 3 grades grade 1 is normal no BV bacteria grade two is as above grade 3 is full on BV

As this is something that won't get better if left id be pro active if I was in your position.
I've successfully treated this with Balance Active b.v vaginal gel 7 tube treatment available from boots otc.
I don't like the multigyn I found it stung so the Balance Active is my treatment of choice but either one is recommended for this.use some organic cold pressed coconut oil on the outer area to reduce inflammation and it'll also help with V.A Holland and barrat have the trial size tubs reduced to £1 just now so grab some if your passing.good luck x D.D

Why do we have 2 threads?  Perhaps ask Emma to remove one  :-\ - see my response on the other thread and do read the threads on vaginal atrophy here !  As well as speaking with a Nurse in your Surgery about bacterial vaginosis.

Cynic that I am of course it will suggest treatment and re-testing.  Something that your GP can arrange if he/she thinks, after examination, is necessary.

I've got that kit next but only have  6 tubes left.
I'm currently using Vagifem so not sure how to juggle them both.
My older sister told me she's getting BV all the time but didn't go into how she knew just said it was horrible and she had 2 baths a day.

Which thread are we actually working on  ;D .......... BV can be diagnosed by swabs.  Your sister should be getting treatment and because she suffers it doesn't mean that you will do.

Maybe use the Vagifem at night and any other treatment in the day?

It won't be a technical malfunction as they are in two different 'rooms'.  Maybe ask Emma to amalgamate so we can keep up  ;)

I meant more along the lines of my own technology iPad or browser issues.
I can't remember but I know better than to leave duplicate posts.

Oh I wouldn't remember if I had technical issues  :-\.  It's hard enough to remember who I am some days until I wake up properly.

Ugh I know.. the times I've gone up or downstairs for something then forget what or put the butter in the oven and coffee in the fridge,   Funny this doesn't worry me as it does some ladies... I know it's right up there with the common meno symptoms
Although I did wake up one day thinking it was Tuesday when it was Friday and planned my whole day for things I normally do on Tuesdays it wasn't until my partner came home at 5 and told me what day it was...THAT was a bit worrying 😆

How are you today?

Thanks for asking 🙂

Sticking with the loading dose for Vagifem. It would seem I just reacted to it sooner than most but I'm not feeling any more swollen
No cramping
No more spotting
Sleeping better last 2 days

I get myself in a tizz if I fall upon information online about my particular HA symptoms.
If I stay here or research health anxiety I feel much better.

I have my appt with women's Physio Therapist on Monday to check my pelvis out
And Tuesday I'm seeing a menopause specialist who is also a GP recommended by Diane Danzebrink.
Gyno urologist on the 27th

To think all these years I've believed Oestrogen was the enemy so slapped on Progesterone in high doses, my Oestrogen is officially deficient my FSH is 70
 Fingers crossed
Just want to be at peace with myself. Xxx
