nausea and fatigue
« on: October 23, 2018, 01:52:25 PM »

Hi there-
I'm experiencing both nausea and fatigue and have been for some weeks.
Off and on I lose my voice.
could these be meno symptoms?
i realise that they could be a bug but it's of very long duration if it is!
fairly recently had a period but prior to that hadn't had a period for almost 6 months- so I'm obvs winding down!!
i've definitely felt worse since thi last period and felt massively depressed in the week following it- this seems to be lifting (relatively speaking)
i just wonder if hving a period left me ar a low ebb physically and mentally.
Does this all ring a bell for anyone?
Thanks for reading :)

Nausea and extreme fatigue were my worst menopause symptoms x

Nausea, loss of voice and fatigue can be a sign of acid reflux or other digestion problems. Not everyone gets heartburn apparently.

Hello vintagefriend.

I am experiencing nausea lately but not fatigue or voice problems. My nausea seems to be linked to the jittery feelings I get in my stomach and chest plus I sometimes have a slightly strange taste in mouth which reminds me of morning sickness ( which, as I've mentioned before didn't bother me during my pregnancies but did afflict me earlier in my meno journey).

I was considering seeing  my GP about my stomach issues but  there are no appointments available for at least a month so it seems I must just hang on. Do you have any other symptoms that would indicate digestive problems rather than menopausal ones?

I hope you get it sorted and wishing you well.

great! thanks ladies for advice and good wishes
I am definitely going to get it checked out rather than assume it's a bug that'll go!
certainly i've had painful nighttime indigestion in the recent past so am perhaps susceptible- just hadnt realised that nausea could be a digestive symptom too
and kathleen i've def recently had jittery chest on waking- palpitations- no doubt it's all linked
interesting to see that fatigue and hoarseness can be a symptom of digestive issues cos i am knackered!! be brill if i could sort it all out.

Hi Sparkle-
i have a doc's appt today so i'll def report back.
to be honest i no longer experience the heartburn - i used to get that in week b4 period but i don't really have periods any longer.
however, i have been woken by nausea so i suspect it might be similar cause to the heartburn?
i don't know what triggers it- i'm still eating but will often feel sick once i have- so maybe its just food in general!
mind, as i type this i feel nuaeous and i havent yet eaten!
thanks very much- i'll be back :)

Hi again,
thanks sparkle- well i have some lansoprazole so hopefully that'll do it!
i do sometimes wake up in the early hours with palpitations- and often feel hot in bed (i'm on anti-deps- SSRI- though, so i'm spared flushes)
palpitations don't happen every night, thank goodness!
just thought- i quite often find myself gasping dramatically just as i'm about to fall asleep!! that just sounds like anxiety, i guess- annoying!
